The Science of Psychotronics first originated in the Soviet Union, and its main progenitor was Czech scientist Zdeněk Rejdák. In its original incarnation, Psychotronics studied many scientific and pseudo-scientific means for influencing human cognition through direct technical interventions in the material of the brain.
Typical interventions were achieved with non-invasive non-destructive methods such as combinations of sound pressure modulation, resonant frequencies, magnetic fields, minor physical perturbations of brain matter (jiggling, vibration, chemical interface), and PSYWAR techniques.
Though many sublime means for influencing cognition were discovered, an unacceptable quantity of the so-called "discoveries" made by Soviet Psychotronics researchers were nothing more than laughable quackery. The Soviets considered Psychotronics to be an important enough field that they dedicated tremendous resources to studying both its practical and impractical aspects, attempting to map out a coherent doctrine for Psychotronic Warfare complete with various technical interventions to support that doctrine.
One major flaw of Psychotronics research historically has been the abuse of test subjects and the field's abysmal failure to adhere to rigorous principles of informed consent and medical ethics. This has been true both in the Soviet bloc, and in Western attempts to mirror Soviet Psychotronics research such as and not limited to certain sub-projects of MKULTRA.
The Defense Psychotronics Institute performs its work by studying the vast treasure trove of declassified Soviet and Western research on the topic of Psychotronics, Parapsychology (an even less scientific and more absurd field), and the modern principles of Informational Warfighting. Our task is to sort the facts from the fiction, the science from the pseudoscience. In short, we sort the wheat from the chaff.
To maintain the most rigorous standard of ethics and stand in opposition to the wretched things this science has been used for in the past the principle test subjects at the Defense Psychotronics Institute are the researchers themselves. While outside volunteers may be permitted with extensive briefings on the nature of the research, and defensive deployments have occurred from which we have gathered data.
Testing is only occasionally necessary, since many technical interventions and doctrinal methods have been substantially tested before by other parties and their research was integrated into our own perspective. When it occurs, it is generally to confirm/disprove assertions made in archaic research rather than to attempt discovery of new technical means of intervention in the human brain. We do not shy away from covering new ground on principle, but rather because there is simply too much pre-existing data to justify charging off into the dark without a torch.
The long term goals of the Defense Psychotronics Institute are to achieve the "Cognitive Hardening" of global populations, particularly but not exclusively in the United States, against manipulation through advanced methods of PSYWAR from Military, Private, and Intelligence organizations.
The DPI can not diagnose or "cure" you from Psychotronically induced injuries and to be honest, statistically speaking, above 99% of people who have come to us claiming to be effected by a Psychotronic weapon were experiencing the normal effects of minor forms of mental illness which only needed conventional treatment. We are purely an academic institution with minimal lab space. The best people to help with this sort of problem are, ironically enough given their complicity in this massive evil, classically trained Psychologists and Psychiatrists.
These days the field of Psychology is much more Scientific than in the past, but its monopolization of Cognitive Theory is childish and absurd in the context of all the research they were never permitted to look at.
Psychology, Psychotronics, Parapsychology, and other things whose names are forgotten or which are yet to be named, are all incomplete hypotheticals of a larger emerging Theory of Cognition which has been under development in various forms for thousands of years. Now the most cooperative entities are finally putting their old ideas together and testing them mutually, which, shall prevent any single entity from dominating this field as almost all of them have sought to foolishly and selfishly do.
Electromagnetic Interventions could in some ways be considered a type of "physical intervention" since they tend to directly perturb brain matter, but it is profoundly difficult to cause damage through electromagnetic means and the degree of power required makes these types of weapons fairly easy to detect and track.
Though such weapon deployments have occurred and been theorized to occur in the past, such as the "Havana Syndrome" incident, their actual deployment in the real world is incredibly rare.
One sublime example of an EM intervention is this: Signalling devices like radars can be used to induce sensations ranging from generalized anxiety, confusion, and a sense of pressure in the skull. Some machines can generate electrostatic fields that cause phenomena like raised hair on the back of the neck through static fields. These are not the only ways EM devices can be used for technical interventions.
These interventions can also be directed towards more constructive applications, however, such as therapeutic electromagnetic stimulation for mood stabilization or neural rehabilitation.
By using highly controlled EM pulses, it is possible to influence certain neurological pathways in ways that promote healing and cognitive restoration.
Such targeted EM interventions require a deep understanding of resonant frequencies and tissue interactions, as even small variations in frequency and intensity can produce vastly different outcomes in biological tissues. High Fidelity Neuromorphological Topographic scans are inherently necessary given the complexity of such tasks.
Informational interventions can take many forms, but our favorite expression is through the science of Memetics.
Memetics was greatly popularized by notorious atheist Richard Dawkins and pioneered in its protogenic forms by figures such as Mark Twain, Elmer Davis, Vernon Kell, and Sefton Delmer.
Memetics is the ultimate evolution of early Propaganda doctrines, finally recognizing that rather than spreading individual ideas the task is the creation of self organizing, self replicating, self evolving informational organisms.
This technique has been heavily utilized by many states and private groups, both overtly and covertly, as a means of social control and warfare, often with complete disregard for individual autonomy.
Despite its history of manipulation and coercion, Memetics also offers powerful ethical applications when deployed responsibly within transparent and informed frameworks.
One ethical approach is the use of memetic structures to promote collective resilience, fostering communities of critical thinkers and engaged citizens who actively participate in shaping their own shared narrative.
By cultivating adaptable, self-reinforcing memetic patterns that prioritize reason and empathy, it is possible to ensure that ideas evolve to better meet the needs of society as a whole, rather than being twisted to serve the interests of the powerful alone.
This approach sees Memetics not as a weapon of domination, but as a tool of empowerment and collective defense in the ongoing battlespace of the Human mind.
This is the category of Psychotronics which has been most severely and frequently abused, particularly against vulnerable populations. Extensive declassified records from the United States, Soviet Union, China, and many other nations indicate a pattern of substantial disregard for basic medical ethics in the pursuit of military achievement.
Despite its horrific past, especially in relation to early barbaric methods of Physical intervention such as lobotomies, there are some ethical and useful ways to achieve Physical intervention in consenting personnel.
One ethical method for Physical Intervention includes the minor jiggling of the brain via sound pressure modulation. Such precise translation of audio waves to physical force in the human brain either requires direct contact with the skull or an elaborate series of "acoustic lenses" constructed around the target.
In the "minor" form this jiggling can produce a variety of effects which are difficult to categorize or control, and which range from beneficial to detrimental.
According to declassified CIA research, however, if this jiggling is amplified to an absurd degree with extremely high sound pressure levels, physical obliteration of elements of the brain structure can occur.
Such destructive intervention via audio waves generally requires direct contact with the skull with a specialized "sound driver" device that is essentially a very powerful speaker designed to make contact with the skull and project physical force into it via the mechanism of sound waves.
